Intel Corporation engages in making, marketing, and selling integrated circuits for computing and communications industries worldwide. It offers microprocessor products, including multi-core processors, quad-core microprocessors, 32-bit architecture microprocessors, and 64-bit architecture microprocessors used in desktop computers, enterprise computer servers, and workstations, as well as in embedded designs, such as industrial equipment, point-of-sale systems, panel PCs, automotive information/entertainment systems, and medical equipment. The company also provides chipset products that send data between the microprocessor and input, display, and storage devices, such as keyboard, mouse, monitor, hard drive, and CD or DVD drives; motherboards that has connectors for attaching devices to the bus, and contains the CPU, memory, and chipset used in the desktop, workstation, and server platforms; flash memory products, including NOR flash memory products; NAND flash memory products primarily used in digital audio players, memory cards, and system-level applications, such as solid-state drives; wired and wireless Internet connectivity products, including network adapters and embedded wireless cards used to translate and transmit data in packets across networks, as well as wireless connectivity products for both mobile and fixed networks; communications infrastructure products, including network processors, communications boards, and optical transponders; and networked storage products, as well as software products and services that enable and advance the computing ecosystem. Intel's customers include original equipment manufacturers, original design manufacturers, PC and network communications products users, and other manufacturers of industrial and communications equipment. The company was founded in 1968 and is based in Santa Clara, California.
